Let's start from the beginning
Laura and James had their first date in the only vegan cafe in Colchester. A quick lunch turned into the cinema, which turned into a shopping trip and eventually dinner. They had their second (or fifth) date on Valentine's Day where James accidentally met Laura's parents - and the rest, as they say, is history.
Colchester Castle & Colchester Arts Centre
If you'd have told us we'd be getting married just a few roads away from where we first met (and now live), we probably wouldn't have believed you. Our ceremony will be held in the Main Chapel of Colchester Castle, then we're heading up the road for our reception at Colchester Arts Centre for music, food and celebration.
Directions
Car: To reach Colchester by road, exit the A12 at junction 27 and follow the signs to the city centre. Parking: There are spaces for disabled badge holders by Castle Park in Museum Street, and places in the High Street. Parking is available in the nearby Priory Street and Britannia car parks, which are just a few minutes from Colchester Castle. For more information, visit www.colchester.gov.uk/parking for all Colchester’s car parks. Train: Colchester is just 58 minutes on the main train line from London or Norwich. Arriving at Colchester Main station, the museums are just a 20 minute walk or a short bus ride to the city centre. Arriving at Colchester Town station the museums are a 10 minute walk, up Queens Street and St Botolphs Street.

Castle Ceremony- Semi-formal, but colourfulColchester CastleJoin us for our ceremony in the Main Chapel at Colchester Castle. As our guest, you'll be able to browse the museum before and after the ceremony for free. 12.30pm arrival for a 1pm ceremony.
Welcome Drinks- Semi-formal, but colourfulColchester Arts CentreHead on up Colchester High Street to our reception venue where you'll find drinks & nibbles awaiting you.
Wedding Breakfast & Speeches- Semi-formal, but colourfulMain HallCelebrate with us as we continue the joyous festivities at our wedding reception.
Dancing & Cake- Semi-formal, but colourfulColchester Arts CentreEnjoy an evening of love, laughter, and merriment as we dance, dine, and create unforgettable memories together, surrounded by cherished family and friends. Evening guests will join us at 6.30pm.
